Integrated marketing communications

The presenter
Kay McCarthy is Deputy Managing Director and Executive Planning Director at McCann Erickson, and has over 16 years experience in brand marketing and communication.
After completing a Masters in Economics at Trinity College Dublin, Kay joined NatWest Bank Plc in London where she participated in a graduate trainee programme focused on strategy. Kay then spent nine years at Diageo Ireland working across the roles of continuous research manager and consumer planner, before becoming the senior brand manager for Guinness.
She joined McCann Erickson in 1999 where she set up its strategic planning division and built a reputation for developing award-winning campaigns and work that was rich on consumer insight. In 2001, Kay was invited to work as EVP strategic planning director of Universal McCann EMEA based in London. Her remit was to build successful connection integration strategies for clients such as MSN, Xbox, Coca-Cola, GSK, Nestlé, and Goodyear. Kay introduced new techniques and planning tools which are now used globally and was invited onto the global board in 2002. She re-joined McCann Erickson Dublin in September 2003 as deputy managing director, leading the company's strategic planning department.
